Terraced rice fields

The primary goal is to keep the price of the project as affordable as possible, and yet it needs quality technology: turbine & generator or photovoltaic system, batteries, chargers and lanterns. Potentially better and or cheaper sources of all the technological components are potentially available. No matter what the cost of the project, it will be seem expensive to villagers in Nepal where cash is very hard to come by. The primary goal is for the capital and ongoing costs to be lower than the current cost of kerosene for lighting. By providing a significantly brighter and higher quality light that avoids the problems of smoky and polluting fumes that are harmful to lungs and eyes and eliminate the fire hazard of kerosene, then there should be widespread interest in replication of the project.
